Guided Gazebo Trail Hike – Sundays
Join us for Guided Gazebo Trail Hikes Sundays 2:30-5pm from June through August.
Led by Kristen Burns, Environmental Education Coordinator, and set on our 300-acre campus, surrounded by Pisgah National Forest and the Shining Rock Wilderness, this tour is designed for all ages and experience levels and is approximately 3 miles out-and-back. This is an intermediate hike, with a steady climb up old logging trails to a gazebo with overlook.
The Gazebo Trail was developed along the footprint of early 20th-century logging roads, passing through a variety of Appalachian ecosystems. The payoff for hikers is a striking elevated vista of the water, the valley, and the surrounding Cold Mountain Game Lands.
This tour is offered on a donation basis so everyone can join in. A suggested donation of $20 per adult (ages 18+) and $10 per youth (ages 12-17), with a minimum donation of $5 per attendee (all ages). Payments can be made by cash or card upon arrival. All donations support Lake Logan’s Retreat Center, Outdoor School, Camp Henry and ongoing Hurricane Helene restoration. Every contribution keeps these experiences accessible and our waterways protected.
