Lauri SoJourner
Executive Director

Lauri came to Lake Logan as executive director in 2017. Prior to that she served as executive director at Gravatt Camp and Conference Center in South Carolina. She believes strongly in the power of camp and retreat ministry and feels incredibly lucky to be able to carry out this ministry in the Episcopal Church in such a beautiful place. She has a BA in English/ Professional Communications from Winthrop University, an MA in Student Personnel Administration from Ball State University, and a certificate in Nonprofit Management also from Winthrop. Lauri lives on Lake Logan property with her husband and three of their six children as well as a small farm of family pets, including dogs, cats, and chickens. She feels incredibly lucky to have been called to this place of ministry.

Bruce Pace

A native of this area, Bruce has worked in maintenance at Lake Logan for since 2000. He and his wife, Patricia, have two daughters, Shana and Traci, and four grandchildren.








Wayne Reece

Wayne has enjoyed working in maintenance at Lake Logan since 2016. He enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and anything in the great outdoors as well as spending time with family and friends.








Susan Phillips
head housekeeper

Susan is a native to the area. She came to Lake Logan in 2015, working part-time as a server in the dining room. Susan worked for 18 years at Springdale Country Club, 15 as head housekeeper. With her past experience in housekeeping and her passion for cleanliness and customer service, she was a natural fit to become Lake Logan's head housekeeper in fall 2018.

Susan is involved with the Boy Scouts, teaching horsemanship and animal science on her farm. Besides horses, she has chickens, cattle, sheep, two Australian Shepherds, and cats. She has one daughter who is a nurse practitioner. 


Michelle Robinson
Development Director


Michelle joined Lake Logan in 2015 as the Development Director. She also serves as Development Director to the Bishop at the Diocese of WNC. Prior to joining the diocese, Michelle spent twenty years in non-profit management and development here in Western North Carolina. Michelle is originally from upstate South Carolina. She has a BS in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina and a MA in Criminal Justice from USC as well as a certificate in Non-Profit Management from Duke. 

Michelle loves to spend time at Lake Logan with her family. Her husband, Jeffrey, is an avid outdoorsman. Her son Zachary is a graduate of East Carolina University and works at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS. Her daughter, Sophia attends Western Carolina where she hopes to study nursing. Her 4-legged children, Kozmo and Maggie, also enjoy Lake Logan!


Della Swanger

Della is often the friendly voice you will hear greet you when you call Lake Logan. She is a native of this area and joined the Lake Logan team in January 2016. She has enjoyed working in the hospitality field for many years, from Center Parcs Resorts in England to Springdale Country Club here in Haywood County. Della has two sons, Jordan and Joshua who is married to Sarah. They recently welcomed Della's first grandchild, Cooper to the family. In her spare time, Della loves to spend time with her family, her two boxers - Gage and Walker, antiquing, and decorating.

Paul Young
Executive Chef

Originally from Philadelphia, Paul has been living in Western Carolina University for almost twenty years. He earned a BS in Criminal Justice from Western Carolina, and attended Appalachian Law School for a year before deciding the culinary arts was where he needed to be. Basically raised in the kitchen, he eventually attended A-B Tech Culinary School and received his degree.  After culinary school he worked many years at Wade Hampton Golf Club in Cashiers. Through divine intervention he received an opportunity to become a part of the team at Lake Logan. Paul loves the environment and the people and plans to remain a part of this wonderful team for a long time.
