Camp Henry Staff

Jessica LeFiles, Director of Camp Henry

Hello there! My name is Jessi (she/ella) and I am the director here at Camp Henry, and I couldn’t be more excited to lead this amazing team of young folks as we swim, play, learn, grow, pray, and sing our way through the summers. I’ve spent more than 10 years working at summer camps in Georgia and North Carolina and cherish the opportunity to get to spend another one at Camp Henry. I am a lifeguard, CPR/first aid, and wilderness first aid instructor, a wilderness first responder, and have experience working with neuro-diverse populations. When not supporting camp sessions I like to spend my time exploring this beautiful property that we steward with my husband Brice and kiddos, Anna and Emily. I hope you’ll join us for an unforgettable experience this summer!

Cece Schmitt, Program Director

Hello! My name is Cece (she/her), and I cannot wait to spend the summer of 2022 in the role of Program Director! Camp Henry is a place of unconditional love that is near and dear to my heart, there’s no place I’d rather be! I have been at Camp Henry almost every summer since I was 10 years old, with 3 years on staff. I graduated in May 2021 from UNC Greensboro with my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and I have plans to go back to school soon to pursue my Doctor of Chiropractic. In the meantime, I will be doing a bit of traveling around the US in my converted camper van and counting down the days until we can be back at Lake Logan together this summer, Sail Forth!

Julia Hubbard, Program Director

Hi all! My name is Julia (she/her/hers), and I am beyond thrilled to be back for another summer here at Camp Henry. This summer will be my fourth summer on Camp Henry Staff, and I am so excited to lead and learn from our amazing staff. In May of 2022, I will have graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Sociology and Hispanic Literature and Culture, and I one day plan to pursue a career in social work in Latinx communities. In my free time, I enjoy hiking with my dogs and embroidering my clothes, but, most of all, I enjoy connecting with the campers and staff at Camp Henry. I hope you will join us for a wonderful summer!

Sadie McNair, LAMP Coordinator

Hi everyone! My name is Sadie McNair and I’m a junior at UNC Charlotte (Go Niners!) where I am a Music Education Major with a Spanish Minor. A few hobbies of mine include contra dancing, ultimate frisbee, hiking, rock climbing, reading, traveling, and eating delicious brunch food. Some of my favorites: Fall, Harry Potter, Grey’s Anatomy, Outlander, mango, brownies, turquoise, 80s music, Hamilton, and elephants. My brother, Simon, is 19 years old and my dog is named Sully. I am pumped to be LAMP Mom this summer and sing, play, dance, swim, and grow with you all. I can’t wait for morning dances, mountain views, singing at the top of our lungs, friendship bracelets, Splash 101, muddin’, dodgeball, and most importantly, meeting all of you!

Robert Super, CHOS Coordinator

Hello! I’m Robert (he/him) and I’m super excited to return for my second summer as CHOS Coordinator! I grew up in Waynesville, North Carolina, so the Great Smoky Mountains National Park was practically my backyard. I am currently a sophomore studying architecture at Georgia Tech, and while I love Atlanta, I cannot wait to come back to the mountains and get out on the trails! Camp Henry truly is my happy place, and I can’t wait to canoe the lake, climb the alpine tower, sing songs in the chapel, and tell silly stories around the campfire with all of you!

Maria Perez, Counselor

Hey y’all! It’s weewa aka Maria (she/her/hers) and I can’t wait for another amazing summer at Camp Henry! I am from Asheville, NC and a junior in college studying psychology with a focus in pediatric development and nursing. I have been coming to camp now for 14 years and this will be my 3rd summer on staff. When I’m not in school I enjoy dancing, traveling, teaching, and spending time with family. I’m so ready to be back at camp with all of you doing my favorite thing… dancing in the chapel! I can’t wait to meet all of you this summer!

Emeline Scales, Counselor

Hey y’all!! I’m Emeline (she/her) and I’m ecstatic to be returning for my third summer on staff at the best place on earth. I’m from Asheville, NC and I’m currently majoring in education with a social work minor at NC State and the songwriting and production major at Berklee College of Music Online. Next semester I’m transferring to UNC Asheville and continuing at Berklee! My passions include quoting New Girl, singing Taylor Swift, crocheting, and roller skating. I am so excited to get to know all of you and have our best summer yet!!

Clara Brown, Counselor

Hey y’all! My name is Clara (she/her) and when I think back on a time of peace and happiness, I think of Camp Henry. I was a camper for seven years. I am excited for my first year on staff and can’t wait to dance the morning away with all of you. I will have finished my first year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I am working toward a degree in elementary education. I am passionate about the wonders of our environment and I hope to incorporate outdoor education into our public school system one day. In my free time I like to ride my bike, try new restaurants, and dream about being back at camp.

Lewis Stepp, Counselor

Hey guys! My name is Lewis and 10 years ago I learned about the coolest camp ever, Camp Henry. Every summer since then I’ve dreamed about becoming a counselor one day. Now that I finally am one, I’m super excited for this summer! For the past few years I’ve been a part of the Youth Council of WNC, have been acolyting in the church for over 9 years, and run the live streams at my church. I’m currently a senior at Franklin High School and plan on going to college to major in Social Studies Education at the High School level. I play a lot of video games such as Minecraft, Fortnite, Apex, and Valheim. I also watche a lot of anime such as One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, and Baki. I spend most of my free time streaming or making YouTube videos on video games.

I also likes to have fun in Photoshop.
