Lake Logan is the perfect family get-away. No cooking or cleaning, just time to be together.
Arrive a few hours before dinner on your first day, and you’ll have a couple of hours to spend swimming and boating on the lake before you head up to the dining hall for a kid- and adult-friendly meal that’s sure to please everyone’s palates.
After dinner borrow some board games to take to your cabin, or spend the evening in Boojum’s Cave challenging one another to a friendly ping pong tournament.
Rise for breakfast and then off you go on a hike to Gazebo Trail. The first part of the trail is a pretty good incline, but once you get to the ridge, it’s easy. When you get back down, it’s time for another quick jump in the lake or a little fishing* before lunch.
Take a trip into Waynesville on Saturday afternoon for the History, Haunts, and Legends of Haywood County Walking Tour. You’ll want to pop into The Strand at 38 Main for local ice cream and Mast General Store or any of the other quaint small-town shops for a souvenir. Be sure to stop by 10-Acre Farms on your way back to Lake Logan for a walk in the sunflower maze or picking your own berries.
Before dinner challenge one another to little disc golf, and after dinner your campfire will be ready. The whole family can roast marshmallows for s’mores, catch fireflies in mason jars, and sing some campfire songs. We can even schedule a facilitator to lead music and tell campfire stories.
On your final morning after breakfast, we can arrange for horseback riding in nearby Clyde or Cataloochee Ranch, and we can pack a tasty picnic lunch for you to take along.
